Mother Arrested Months After CT Girl, 12, Died Of Overdose At Their Home: Police
Police have arrested the mother of a 12-year-old Connecticut girl who died from a three-drug overdose months after charging the girl's stepfather with sexual assault, authorities said.
Melanie Federline, 39, of Enfield, was charged on Friday, Oct. 30, with risk of injury to a child, police said.
Her daughter, Eve Rogers, was found dead in her Enfield bed on March 18. Police have not said whether the charge against her mother stems from the investigation into the girl's death.

Operation Wood Island: Bridgeport Police Seize 4 Guns, Arrest 3
Complaints about guns, drugs and noise around a Connecticut park led to a police operation that ended with three arrests and four seized guns, authorities said.
The arrests took place Monday through Wednesday, Oct. 26-28, as part of Bridgeport Police's Operation Wood Island.
The investigation focused on the triangular park at Wood Avenue, Benham Avenue and Grove Street. Police said complaints involved illegal guns, drugs, noise, and heavy drinking during the day and at night. Those concerns extended into the surrounding neighborhood.
