Guilty Verdict In Brutal Robbery-Murder Of CT Man Brings Justice, DA Says A Connecticut man has been found guilty of killing another man on a playground in a robbery-murder plot. Rickey Trayham, age 28, of New Haven, was found guilty on Wednesday, May 31 by a jury in New Haven of the murder of Rondell Atkinson on Monday, June 7, 2021, said New Haven State’s Attorney John Doyle, Jr.  According to evidence introduced at trial, Traynham shot Atkinson, age 33, of West Haven, during a robbery at the Pease Road Playground in Woodbridge.  Atkinson’s body was found the next day by a jogger. It happened just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday, May 27 in East Haven. A vehicle was traveling west on Foxon Road in the area of Circle Drive crossed over the double-yellow lines and struck a utility pole on the south side of Foxon Road, East Haven Police said.  The vehicle came to rest in the westbound lane.  The operator was given medical attention on the scene by East Haven Fire Department personnel and was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was pronounced dead. …
