original story: NORWALK, Conn. — Metro-North is reporting residual delays on trains through Darien and Noroton Heights on Thursday morning after an unattended bag at the Rowayton train station raised concerns, according to the Darien Times.

Delays of 10 to 15 minutes were being reported after police activity near the Rowayton station in Norwalk, Metro-North said.

MTA police and the canine unit were called and cleared the bag, the Darien Times said.

Metro-North was also experiencing problems on the New Canaan branch, where one car of a non-passenger train derailed in the New Canaan Yard.

Due to the problem in the yard, train service on the southbound New Canaan Branch is originating from Talmadge Hill, Metro-North said on its website. No trains are running from the New Canaan train station, Metro-North said.

Riders are urged to use train service on the main New Haven Line instead.

On the problem train, the wheel of one car has left the track and is partially blocking the track leading to the New Canaan station from the rail yard.
