The 2015 honorees are Sandy Nielsen Baumann, Susan Delaney, Dr. Josephine Velazquez Rucquoi, Alicia Sillars and Jane Yezzi.

The YWCA also honored Merlyn Tejada as a Young Woman of Distinction, which is given to a woman under the age of 21.

"Women frequently work behind the scenes to forge stronger families and communities," said Ellen Bay, co-chairwoman of the event, in a press release.

"We at the YWCA are grateful for the opportunity to shine a light on these women and celebrate the differences they make every single day.”

The Women of Distinction luncheon was held at the Woodway Country Club. All proceeds will benefit the YW Community Outreach Programs.

“The 2015 Women of Distinction honorees embody the meaning of selfless service,” said event co-chairwoman, Louisa Stead, in a press release.

“Through their generosity and dedication to their communities they are true leaders and role models."
