A 47-year-old man was charged with failure to move over after slamming into the back of a Connecticut State Police cruiser. The incident occurred in Fairfield County in Westport on I-95 southbound around 3 a.m. Saturday, July 27, on I-95 near Exit 17. Driver Crashes Into Bear On Busy CT Highway
Although a driver emerged without injuries after colliding with a bear on a busy Connecticut highway, the animal did not fare the same. The crash happened in Litchfield County on Sunday, July 21 just before 9 p.m., when a 2015 MINI Cooper struck a bear on Route 8 South near Exit 45 in Torrington, according to Connecticut State Police. A 26-year-old Connecticut Department of Transportation worker was killed after being struck by a vehicle on the shoulder of a highway exit ramp. The crash happened in New Haven County on Friday, June 28 just after 9:15 a.m., when the DOT worker was struck while working alongside the shoulder of the Exit 13 on-ramp on Interstate 91 South in Wallingford, Connecticut State Police announced. The New York charter bus company involved in a deadly highway crash that killed two educators and left dozens of high school band students hospitalized holds a “satisfactory” safety rating, though records show nearly two dozen maintenance violations in recent years. Man Who Fired Shots From Handgun On I-95 In Bridgeport Caught
A 27-year-old is behind bars after state police say he fired a gun from a car on I-95 in the middle of the afternoon on Sunday. State Police said they received multiple 911 reports of shots being fired near both Exit 32 in Stratford and Exit 28 in Bridgeport at around 3:30 p.m. Witnesses described a bearded man firing a handgun from a gray Ford Focus northbound on I-95, police said.
