Maryland Shooter Admits To Gunning Down Man In Northeast DC On Thanksgiving Weekend: Feds A Maryland man has admitted to his role in the fatal shooting of a popular 34-year-old man in Northeast DC over Thanksgiving weekend last year, authorities announced. Andre Hicks, 40, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to second-degree murder while armed in connection to the death of Southeast DC resident Daniel Adams in November 2023.  On Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, officers from the Metropolitan Police Department found Adams in the 1300 block of Florida Avenue NE suffering from gunshot wounds. TSA: Another Midwesterner Nabbed With A Gun At Newark Airport As Thanksgiving Travel Begins The second Midwesterner of the week was nabbed with a loaded gun at a Newark Airport security checkpoint, authorities reported. The 9mm handgun seized from an Illinois traveler's carry-on bag on Thursday was loaded with 12 bullets, including one in the chamber, the TSA's Lisa Farbstein said on Friday, Nov. 18.
