A 44-year-old man was shot and killed inside a Southeast DC apartment building on Easter Sunday, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Investigators identified Northwest DC resident Michael James Quander, Jr., 44, as the person who was gunned down inside a residential building in the Navy Yard over the weekend. Shortly after 3 a.m. on Sunday, March 31, officers were called to the 1100 block of 2nd Street SE, where there were multiple reports of gunshots inside the building. Two suspects have been apprehended after a DC Housing Authority Police Department officer was shot in the Navy Yard on Thursday morning. DC Youth Curfew Enforcement
Summer is coming to a close, schools are reopen, and there is a new curfew being enacted for the youth in Washington, DC. As of Friday, Sept. 1, the "Juvenile Curfew Enforcement Pilot" took effect in the District as officials keep working to curtail the rash of violence that has placed DC in 2023.
