A wanted 53-year-old Stafford man who is a fan of "COPS" was quickly informed of the reality he got himself into Sunday afternoon, Oct. 29, Stafford County Sheriff David Decatur said. Deputy X.D. Bates responded to a home to serve Gary Melvin on a warrant of probation violation, but couldn't find Melvin at the home, Decatur said. Instead, Deputy Bates began canvassing nearby locations to find him.
