Trader Joe's is recalling Infinite Herbs-brand organic basil that was sold across the country in 2.5-ounce clamshell packaging due to concerns of Salmonella contamination. Spotsylvania Pedestrian Crash
A 51-year-old man was struck and killed Monday, April 8 in Spotsylvania, police said. James Corsa was crossing Patriot Highway in all-dark clothing when he was struck by a 2013 Dodge caravan heading south around 11:30 p.m., according to Major Troy Skebo of the county sheriff's office. The area that Corsta was struck in was not in a crosswalk area and was not very well lit. He was taken to Mary Washington Hospital where he died. Listeria Prompts Recall Of These Spinach, Salad Kits Sold In Virginia
A voluntary recall has been issued across seven states for BrightFarms spinach and four salad kits, the FDA announced on Wednesday, Jan. 17. The recall includes spinach grown by BrightFarms's supplier, Element Farms, located in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. Brightfarms has temporarily suspended the distribution of any spinach grown at the farm due to the recall. The FDA explained there was "potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes" from the products distributed from its Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania facility. TGI Fridays Closing Fredericksburg Restaurant, 30 Total Locations Across Northeast
TGI Fridays is closing nearly 30 "underperforming" locations across the northeast and will sell eight restaurants to the chain's former CEO, the chain said in a news release. The 27 closures include restaurants in Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
