Father, Son Drown On Northern Virginia Lake, Police Say A father and son drowned Memorial Day Weekend at Lake Anna, authorities in Louisa County said. The 42-year-old man had attempted to rescue his 14-year-old son around 1:10 p.m. Saturday, May 25, just before witnesses lost sight of them both, the county sheriff's office said. Man Recovered From Suspicious House Fire Died With Gunshot Wound: Spotsylvania Police A dead body with a single gunshot wound was found in the remains of a Spotsylvania house fire, police said.Officers arrived to a house in the 7500 block of Grand Brooks Road at around 1:50 p.m., where they pulled the body from the house fire and later officials realized the man had been hit with a bullet before the fire, according to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office.  The homeowner's vehicle was found in Louisa County earlier that day, which had apparent damage from an accident and was set on fire, authorities reported.
