Angry Motorcyclist Getting Towed Fires Shots After Arguing With Tow Truck Driver: PWC Police

A motorcyclist desperate to stop his bike from getting towed fired a round of shots into the air, scaring off the tow truck driver in Prince William County, authorities said.

The tow truck driver was lawfully towing Morgan R. Ricciardi's bike at a home on Dunigan Court in Catharpin around 4:45 p.m. Thursday, April 20, when 26-year-old Ricciardi became irate, county police said.

Ricciardi approached the tow truck driver and began arguing, then pulled out a gun, police said. The tow truck driver separated from Ricciardi, who fired shots into the air as the tow truck driver was getting into his truck., authorities said.

The tow truck driver left the area and contacted the police. No injuries or property damage were located or reported. While investigating the incident, officers found a shell casing in the driveway. Following the investigation, Ricciardi was arrested and charged with reckless handling of a firearm and brandishing a firearm.

He was being held without bond.
