Dangerous I-395 Ramp Closes: Now What?
A dangerous I-395 ramp has closed as part of an improvement project, changing traffic patterns for Virginia drivers. The ramp from southbound I-395 to eastbound Boundary Channel Drive (Exit 9/Clark Street) and the eastbound Boundary Channel Drive ramp to southbound I-395, closed as of Friday, Dec. 1, the Virginia Department of Transportation announced. According to NBC Washington, motorists were directed by their GPS devices to cut across fast-moving traffic, causing several crashes. Police say that speed is likely a factor in a crash that left a 21-year-old man dead in Fairfax County on Sunday morning. Tractor Trailer Bursts Into Flames On I-81 In Northern VA
A tractor trailer burst into flames on Monday, Nov. 6 on Interstate 81, officials said. It happened around 7 a.m. on the northbound side near milepost 251, in Rockingham County, Virginia State Police said. The vehicle suffered a mechanical issue which caused the blaze.
