Pair Leading Wild I-395 Pursuit Try Swimming Across Roaches Run After Crash With Troopers Two people who sprung out of a vehicle and tried swimming across Roaches Run were in custody after leading Virginia State Troopers on a wild pursuit along Interstate 395, State Police said. The incident began just before 1 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, when a Virginia State Police trooper tried stopping a vehicle displaying improper registration, VA State Police said. When the trooper activated his emergency lights and sirens to attempt a traffic stop at 18th Street and S. Helicopter Lands On I-395 To Assist Officer, Driver Captures It All Everything is a landing site during an emergency. A medivac pilot proved that on Wednesday, July 6, after they landed a helicopter on Interstate 395 to rescue a police officer.  Park police requested the helicopter to rescue a motorcycle officer who'd crashed on Maine Avenue, WJLA said. A US Park Police pilot had no choice but to land on I-395 around 6:30 p.m. to whisk the officer away to a nearby hospital for treatment.  The impromptu landing caused a traffic back up and cars stopped on the other side of the interstate to watch this rare sight. Speed, Alcohol May Have Contributed To Fatal Arlington Wreck: Police Police say that speed and alcohol could have caused a fatal crash on Interstate-395 last week.  Virginia State troopers responded to the single-vehicle wreck early Friday morning, June 10, just before 1:30 in Arlington County, State Police officials said. A Chevrolet Camaro had skidded off the left side of the ramp, hit a curb, and tumbled.  First responders rushed the driver, Jose T. Villanueva, 31, of Alexandria, to George Washington Hospital, where he later died, officials said. He wasn't wearing a seat belt, and the force of the crash ejected him from the car.  State pol…
