$15M Project Will Replace 60-Year-Old Bridge In Arlington, Public Urged To Weigh In
The public is being urged to weigh in on a $15 million project planned to replace a 60-year-old bridge in Arlington. The North Old Glebe Road bridge over North Glebe Road (Route 120) was built in 1964 and today, averages 7,000 vehicles a day, the VDOT said. Rehabilitating the bridge would cost 9.75 million, and so, the county has opted to fully replace it. The new bridge will feature a wider sidewalk on the eastern side and an additional sidewalk on the western side. Residents are invited to provide their input through Nov. 1, beginning with a virtual meeting set for Wednesday, Oct. …

Tractor Trailer Crashes On I-81 In Shenandoah County
A tractor trailer crashed on I-81 Monday, Oct. 16 in Shenandoah County. It happened on the northbound side at mile post 273.6 around 9:25 a.m., just past the Rt. 292 intersection, the VDOT website says. The north right lane and right shoulder were closed. 2 Miles Of Delays Reported In I-95 Prince William County Crash
Nearly two miles of delays were reported following a crash on I-95 in Prince William County Friday, Oct. 13. The multi-vehicle crash took out a left lane and the left shoulder of the highway at mile post 161.3, in the southbound lanes. Two miles of delays were reported at 3:30 p.m.

Additional details have been released by the MDTA Police Department one day after traffic was temporarily halted at BWI Airport. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a child was struck by a car on Monday afternoon. An alert was issued by the agency at around 4:45 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 2, when there were reports of a minor who was hit near the intersection of Bryant Boulevard and Bertram Boulevard in Stafford. Some travelers were left in a lurch on Friday morning when a train derailed near Reagan National Airport. Service was suspended temporarily on the Blue and Yellow lines on Friday, Sept. 29 as officials investigated a derailment that impacted at least 50 passengers who were on board at the time. Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash involving a Virginia Department of Transportation vehicle on I-95 earlier this week. Victor M. Harper II, 30, of Dumfries, was heading north when he lost control and ran off the right side of the highway around 4:40 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, Virginia State Police said.
