Fire Rips Through Fairfax County Home Firefighters quickly doused a blaze that broke out at a Fairfax County home early Wednesday, March 13. Firefighters were called to a home on Silver Anne Drive in Lorton around 6:30 a.m., where heavy fire was showing from the side of the home. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control. No reported firefighter or civilian injuries.

Kimberly Schoppa died after a valiant battle with occupational cancer on Thursday, April 26. Schoppa was hired as a firefighter in 2004 and served with the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department for more than 18 years.
