Man Killed By Tractor Trailer Suddenly Ran In Front Of It: Virginia State Police A 59-year-old man was struck and killed by a tractor trailer in Culpeper County Monday, March 25, Virginia State Police said. Gustavo M. Valdez suddenly ran into the eastbound lanes of Route 3 (Germanna Highway) when he was struck by a tractor trailer just after 4 p.m., according to State Police. The 2019 Peterbilt tractor-trailer driver, 52, of Hopewell, was unable to avoid hitting Valdez, and immediately stopped at the scene, according to police. Valdez died at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
