Police have announced the arrest of a Baltimore County driver in connection with a massive illegal car meetup where drivers antagonized officers in Fairfax County. Brandon Extecoc Santos, 20, of Parkville, was arrested on Friday, April 19, in connection with the "street takeover" Easter Sunday, Fairfax County police announced. A suspect has been charged with fatally shooting a 43-year-old man near an apartment complex in Adelphi last week. Jamar Welch Sr., 36, of Takoma Park, was charged with first- and second-degree murder and other offenses, PGPD said Tuesday, April 2. He is accused of shooting Charles Dent of Hyattsville during an argument near the 1800 block of Metzerott Road in Adelphi around 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 23.
