Retired Virginia Couple Feared Dead In Caribbean Boat-Jacking By Escaped Prisoners
A retired Virginia couple is feared dead after their catamaran was stolen by escaped prisoners in the Caribbean, authorities said.
The Royal Caribbean Police on Monday, Feb. 26 said the three prisoners, who escaped police custody on Sunday, Feb. 18, likely used Ralph Hendry and Kathy Brandel's boat, Simplicity, as a getaway boat.
Simplicity was found "anchored and abandoned" off a beach on the south coast of the Caribbean island of St. Vincent on Wednesday, Feb. 21, according to the Salty Dawg Sailing Association. But Hendry, 66, and Brandel, 71, were missing.

Fairfax County Man, 39, Dies In Prison
A 39-year-old man died in an Alexandria prison early Monday, Feb. 26, authorities said.
Ahntais Lucas, of Fairfax County, was found unresponsive in his cell alone and experiencing an apparent medical emergency at the William G. Truesdale Adult Detention Center around 4 a.m., Alexandria officials said.
A deputy immediately called for assistance from the jail’s medical staff, and both began life-saving measures. Medics from the Alexandria Fire Department responded and continued treatment, but the patient was pronounced deceased at 4:42 a.m.

Two Alexandria Schools Swatted (Details)
Two bogus threats brought a SWAT response to two Alexandria schools on Wednesday, Jan. 24, officials said.
The first call came in around 12:05 p.m., targeting the Charles Barrett Elementary School, at 1115 Martha Cutis Dr., a spokesperson for the sheriff's office said. The caller said someone would be at the school with guns, officials said.
Multiple officers, K9s, and Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) members responded and began searching the school, which was evacuated to Cora Kelly School on Commonwealth Avenue, police said.
