The man who used fire extinguishers during a string of armed robberies in Washington DC has been apprehended in Maryland, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Jamilla Haskins was sentenced to 14 months in prison for assaulting the officer who confronted her about stealing various sundries from a CVS store and attempting to flee, federal authorities announced on Thursday. Support is swelling around the family of 15-year-old Niomi Russell, who was shot and killed over the weekend by drive-by shooters in Southeast DC. Russell, a Northwest DC native, was found shot and killed late on Sunday, April 14 inside an apartment building in the 2400 block of Elvans Road.
