The chief of police at Prince George’s Community College is facing serious charges after allegedly causing a crash in Virginia while driving intoxicated with a BAC more than triple the legal limit.
Derek Myers, 55, of Burke, was arrested and charged with DUI maiming after a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday, Dec. 6, in Fair Lakes, according to detectives from the Fairfax County Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Unit.

Victim Seriously Injured In Prince William County House Fire: Police
A large fire consumed a Prince William County home early on Wednesday, Sept. 21, leaving one occupant seriously injured, officials said. At around midnight, fire crews arrived at home in flames, in the 12000 block of Point Longstreet Way, according to the Prince William County Fire and Rescue System.
Two adults and a child were inside the home and started to evacuate away from the flames, authorities said.
One of the adults, who successfully got the family's dog out of the burning house, sustained life-threatening injuries during the incident, officials reported.
