Second Suspect Arrested For Fatal Triple Northeast DC Shooting: Police

Police have identified a second suspected shooter months after 21-year-old Jayvon Jones was gunned down in Northeast DC, officials say.

Jerome Dukes, 31, has become the second to be charged with Jones' February murder, after a Hyattsville man was named as a suspect and taken into custody on Tuesday, March 31.

Jones was killed and two others injured shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21 in the 1400 block of Saratoga Avenue NE by the gunmen. All three were rushed to area hospitals where Jones later died from his injuries.

The Northeast DC resident was arrested over the weekend and charged with second-degree murder while armed, the Metropolitan Police Department announced on Wednesday.
