Man's Body Recovered In Water Near Chain Bridge In Northwest DC (Developing) First responders in Washington, DC made a grisly discovery after a body was pulled from the waters near the Chain Bridge.  On Wednesday afternoon, DC Fire and EMS personnel responded to the area along with DC and US Park police crews where there was a report of a person in the water, prompting a massive search. At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16, officials say that despite their best efforts, they eventually located a person submerged in the water who was pronounced dead at the scene after being brought to shore. Injured Blue Heron Stuck In Waterway Saved By DC Officials D.C. Fire and EMS sent a fireboat crew to rescue a blue heron in need, officials said. Multiple animal control officers got into the water near Chain Bridge on August 4, in order to put the heron in a net and bring the bird to safety, according to D.C. Fire and EMS.
