At around 12:30 p.m. on July 15, Herbet Hawkins, who was turning left onto Caton Hill Road, collided with a Ford E-350 in an intersection, according to the Prince William County Police Department.
Police said it was believed that Hawkins had a yielding traffic signal at the time of the crash.
Hawkings, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pulled from his car and flown to a local hospital, authorities reported.
He died from his injuries on August 4, officials said.
The driver and passenger of the Ford E-350 were taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, law enforcement said.
