Andrea Louise Delaney, 29, who has no fixed address, and Fredericksburg resident Joshua Alexander Schuldt, 25, were both arrested on Wednesday night after leaving the two children behind.

Officers from the Prince William County Police Department were in the 14300 block of Jeffries Road at around 7:20 p.m. on Oct. 16 in Woodbridge, where there was an occupied vehicle found in an area parking lot with the kids inside.

Inside the vehicle, police say that officers found two girls - ages 7 and 9 - with suspected illegal drugs within their reach.

The children were taken to an area hospital for possible exposure to the drugs, though they were ultimately uninjured, investigators said, while Delaney and Schuldt were arrested.

Both Delaney and Schuldt were charged with two counts of felony child neglect and possession of schedule I or II drugs.

Bond for Delaney was set at $4,000, while Schuldt was held without bond. Court dates for both are pending.
