Virginia Dad Dies In Crash Days Before Welcoming 2nd Child: Family
A 28-year-old dad was killed in a Stafford County crash Thursday, Dec. 28 crash, authorities said. Christopher E. Lash, of King George, was not wearing a seatbelt when his 2016 Dodge Journey ran off the left side of Kings Highway east around 2:20 a.m., Virginia State Police said. Lash's vehicle struck an embankment before it overturned and collided with several trees. Lash was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. A 22-year-old man died in a head-on crash in Rockhingham County on Christmas, Virginia State Police said. Garcia F. Hernandez was heading north on Route 11 (N. Valley Pike) in a 2015 Subaru Legacy when he crossed over the center line and struck a 2004 GMC Envoy head-on around 12:10 p.m. Monday, Dec. 25, VSP Sgt. Brent Coffey said. Virginia State Police investigators have identified the Manassas woman who was killed after being ejected from a vehicle last week on I-77. Shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, Thomas Southard, 67, was driving Pamela Stewart, 69, when he lost control on the interstate in Carroll County and crashed near the three-mile marker, officials say. Police ID Pilot Killed In Fiery Virginia Plane Crash
Police have identified the pilot killed in a Fauquier County plane crash over the weekend. Simmie A. Adams, 62, of Bealeton, was trying to land a single-engine plane when the plane collided with several trees around 3:55 p.m. near Midland Road and Ebenezer Church Road, Virginia State Police said. The plane caught fire and Adams, the only occupant, died at the scene of the crash. No one on the ground was injured as a result of the crash. The FAA and NTSB were notified of the crash. The crash remains under investigation.

Virginia State Police have identified the victim of a Fauquier County crash this week as a 25-year-old man. Chandler P. Povlsen, of Bealeton, was was heading south on Balls Mill Road near Rockdale Lane in Midland, in a 1994 Ford Ranger, when he crossed over the double solid yellow centerline around 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, VSP said. Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Leesburg Crash, Witnesses Sought
Police in Loudoun County are looking to speak with anyone who witnessed a serious pedestrian crash Thanksgiving weekend. A man was struck by a vehicle around 530 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25 near the Leesburg Public Safety Center, local police said. The pedestrian was crossing Plaza Street NE in a westbound direction in a marked crosswalk, police said. The driver remained on-scene and is cooperating with police.
