Naked Burglar Dies After Breaking Into Fairfax County Home A nude man died moments after breaking into a Fairfax County home, police said. The unidentified man was acting erratically after forcing his way into a home on the 5700 block of Ash Drive in Springfield around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, county police said. The homeowner said the burglar appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Responding officers found the man inside, lying on the floor, and detained him. Merle Webster Beach, of Springfield, was riding a stolen 2004 Suzuki on Henderson Road near thistledown Trail at a high rate of speed when he crested a small hill and lost control around 1:20 p.m. in Fairfax Station, police said. Beach was ejected from the bike and taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. One Dead In Fiery Crash On I-495 One person died in a fiery crash overnight on Interstate 495 in Fairfax County. The vehicle was heading west toward I-395 northbound when it ran off the highway near Exit 170B, went over the side cement barrier and landed on railroad tracks below in Springfield around 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, Virginia State Police said. The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to immediately catch fire.  The victim's identity was not released and the accident remains under investigation.
