Arrest Made In Triple Leesburg Shooting, Police Say
A 19-year-old man has been arrested in a shooting that left three people wounded in Loudoun County, authorities said. Sylvanus Massaquoi is believed to have shot the three males on the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Road NE in Leesburg around 7:45 p.m. Thursday, May 30, police said. The victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Massaquoi, of Sterling, was arrested and charged with aggravated malicious wounding. One person was killed in a shooting overnight in Fairfax County, police said. It happened on the 6000 blk of Argyle Drive in Bailey’s Crossroads around 3:20 a.m., county police said. The man was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. Preliminary, involved parties appear to be known to each other, police said.

An investigation along a Manassas street prompted a shelter-in-place for a nearby school on Thursday, May 9, authorities said. City police said only that Dean Elementary School was sheltering in place amid an investigation along Dean Park Lane around 2:30 p.m. as a precaution for a nearby investigation. "We have a police drone up and a heavy presence in the area as the investigation continues," police said. "The schools are safe and will resume regular activity with on time dismissal."

The victim was riding his bike along the trail near East Market Street around 9:35 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, when he was confronted by five Hispanic males, local police said. On Friday, officers were called to the 4300 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SW when a passerby found a decomposing body in the woods, police say.
