Second Racist Incident In Eight Months Sparks Outrage, Reform At Wootton High School
A shocking act of racism at Wootton High School has ignited outrage in the school community, prompting school leaders to postpone a pep rally and vow cultural change.
The incident occurred Monday, Dec. 3, when a Black student discovered a racial slur written on their desk, according to a letter sent to families by Dr. Peter O. Moran, chief of the Office of School Support and Improvement.
"This incident has not only harmed this individual student but has harmed students, families, and staff, specifically those who are Black or African American," Dr. Moran wrote in the letter.

A woman has pleaded guilty to sending racially motivated death threats to a man in New York.
Kristin Keeble, age 54, of Pageland, South Carolina, admitted to transmitting threats to injure another person across state lines, according to the US Attorney's Office of the Northern District of New York.
Keeble sent four profanity-laced, racially derogatory audio messages through Facebook Messenger on Oct. 26, 2023 to a Greene County man who resides in the village of Catskill.

South Jersey Man Admits To Racist Amazon Driver Threats, Illegally Growing Weed: Prosecutor
A Lacey Township man admitted to racist threats against an Amazon driver and illegally selling large amounts of marijuana, authorities said.
John Vincentini, 64, pleaded guilty in two separate cases on Friday, June 7, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release. He and his wife, 64-year-old Karen Vincentini, have been held in the Ocean County Jail since March.

'Deeply Offensive:' 30 Dwight-Englewood 7th Graders Were On Racist Text Chain, Admin Says
The Dwight-Englewood school, a private school in Bergen County, said more than 30 7th grade boys were involved in a text chain that featured racist language.
In a letter sent to parents, Jeremy Gregersen, the head of school, said the texts contained highly-charged language and anti-Black, racist memes.
