A man who drowned in Brandywine Creek has been identified as Sergio Ayala-Vilchis, 21, who had gone swimming with a woman he met at a nightclub the night before, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Monday, July 21.
The pair met at a Delaware club on Saturday, July 19, and went to the Brandywine Creek in Chadds Ford, Delaware County on Sunday morning to swim, according to Trooper Paul Holdefer.

A 5-year-old boy died Friday night, July 18 after being found unresponsive in a swimming pool in Wayne, officials said.
Officers responded to a home in the area of Armstrong Avenue and Maple Lane around 6:30 p.m., on a report of a possible drowning, Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said in a news release.
According to witnesses at the scene, a 5-year-old boy had been located floating in a pool after he had left his residence unaccompanied by an adult at about 5:30 p.m., Valdes said.

A 43-year-old man from Yonkers, New York, drowned while picnicking with his family on the Housatonic River in New Milford over the weekend, authorities said.
Simon Hernandez was spending time with loved ones in the Gaylordsville section of New Milford on Sunday, July 13, around 4:10 p.m., when he entered the river but did not resurface, according to police.

Woman Drowns At Denville Beach: Prosecutor
A 33-year-old woman drowned at a New Jersey beach on Sunday, July 13, authorities said.
At 5:50 p.m., first responders responded to Cedar Lake Beach in Denville after the woman was observed unresponsive by other swimmers, who called 9-1-1, a spokesperson for the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.
The woman, who was not identified, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and pronounced dead, authorities said. No foul play is suspected, authorities said.
