Woman, Twin Brothers Admit To $9M Romance Scam Targeting Older Americans An American woman and twin brothers from Ghana have admitted to their roles in an international romance scam that stole more than $9 million from victims, authorities said. Amanda Joy Opoku-Boachie, 53, of Kula, Hawaii, and 22-year-olds Jamal and Kamal Abubakari all pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud earlier in October. The US Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Ohio announced their pleas in a news release on Monday, Oct. 26.
