Ski-Masked ATV Operator Found With Handgun After Route 20, Clifton Pursuit: Cops
A 19-year-old Paterson man who police say committed multiple traffic violations in an ATV on major roadways was found with a handgun and burglary tools after leading a foot pursuit, authorities in Clifton said.
The incident began around 5:03 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, when Clifton Officers Benjamin Bressel and Fabricio Martinez, patrolling near the Route 21 North and Route 46 East merge, spotted a rider on a 2014 Honda TRX ATV, Lt. Robert Anderson said. The rider, later identified as Zahir Pujols, was wearing a ski mask and committing multiple motor vehicle violations, according to police.

Seven people lost their lives in crashes on Virginia roadways over the 2024 Thanksgiving holiday, a significant decrease from previous years, according to Virginia State Police.
The five-day period surveyed by officials, which ran from Wednesday, Nov. 27 through Sunday, Dec. 1, saw seven fatal crashes across the state in Bath, Culpeper, Page, Spotsylvania, Stafford, Warren, and Wythe counties, officials said.
It represents an improvement compared to 11 fatalities in 2023 and a steep drop from 19 in 2022.

Joshua Hueston, 28, of Union City; Ronald Terry, 33, of Newark; and Luis Ruben Cuevas, 30, of Brooklyn, NY; were arrested on Monday, Aug. 26, the Middletown Township Police Department said in a news release. Joshua Beck of Penn Forest Township died as a result of the crash on Saturday, Aug. 24, according to Carbon County Coroner Mark K. Smith. Beck lost control of the ATV, left the roadway and struck a tree, the coroner said.
