One Injured When Car Slams Into Annville Home: Fire Officials
One person was injured when a car slammed into a home in Anville on Sunday morning, fire officials announced. The Bellegrove Fire Company was called to a report of a motor vehicle accident into a structure in the 1500 block of North State at 1:56 a.m., on Feb. 11, the company detailed in a release later that day. One person was treated by EMS, but it is unclear if they were a resident or the person in the vehicle. "Crews shored up [the] interior wall of structure which was damaged," as stated in the release. Someone "self-extricated" from a sedan following a messy rollover crash in Chambersburg on Thursday, authorities say. The car landed on its roof in the 800 block of Lincoln Way West at 7:53 a.m. on July 20, 2023, according to the Franklin Fire Company. Emergency Medical Services evaluated the driver at the scene and no injuries were reported. Fire crews handled the spilled fluids from the vehicle and cleaned up the debris. All lanes of traffic are open.

Hit-Run Kills Pedestrian In Central PA: Police
UPDATE: The vehicle but not the suspect involved was located on Monday, police said in an updated release. ORIGINAL: A man died following a hit-and-run on Saturday, according to police. The pedestrian was hit by a dark-colored 2005-6 BMW X5 SUV in the 200 block of South 17th Street around 9 p.m. on July 8th, the police detailed in a release. The SUV fled the scene, the police explained. Officers and Emergency Medical Services provided medical aid to the man but ultimately he did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene. A man riding on a motorized bicycle has died following a car crash in Harrisburg, according to area police. New Holland Borough police department is mourning the death of Officer Wendell Metzler, who died of cancer. He was 52 years old. Serving on the force for 20 years -- 25 part time for West Earl police -- Metzler lived a life full of service to his community. He previously worked for Ephrata Township police for seven and a half years, and spent 22 working as a volunteer firefighter with West Earl and Upper Leacock Fire Companies.
