150 Gallons Of Fuel Spilled Onto Route 80 After Crash That Jammed PA, NJ Border For Hours
Route 80 was jammed for hours after a truck carrying hazardous materials crashed, authorities said. This crash occurred at mile marker 1.2 on Route 80 eastbound in Hardwick Township at about 8 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23. No hazardous material leaked from the jackknifed tractor-trailer, but there was a 150-gallon diesel fuel spill, Knowlton firefighters said. No one was hurt. Fire crews immediately began deploying absorbent pads and booms to keep the flowing fuel from the storm drains that empty to the adjacent Delaware River. Philadelphia Driver, 29, Killed In Violent NJ Turnpike Crash
A 29-year-old Philadelphia driver died in a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike Sunday, July 24, authorities said. The unidentified woman was heading south on the inner roadway in a Mercedes Benz when she struck the rear of a BMW around 3:30 a.m. in Cranbury Township, NJSP Trooper Charles Marchan said. The BMW then veered off the roadway to the right and struck a guardrail, while the Mercedes overturned and struck a guardrail. Philly Woman Dead, 2 Hurt In South Jersey Crash
A Philadelphia woman died, and two others were injured in a South Jersey crash early Friday morning, authorities said. Lorraine Smith, 45, was in her Chevy Impala driving northbound on Route 42 near milepost 9.7 in Gloucester Township when she veered off the road and hit a tree around 3:30 a.m., NJSP Sgt. Alejandro Goez told Daily Voice. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene while her two passengers, a 33-year-old woman, and a 12-year-old boy were taken to Cooper University Hospital with serious injuries. The relationship between the three victims remains unknown.

State Police: Girl, 15, Struck And Killed By Car On Route 80
A 15-year-old girl was struck and killed by a car on Route 80 early Tuesday morning, state police said. The girl ran into the road and was hit by an unknown vehicle eastbound near milepost 45.3 in Parsippany-Troy Hills just before 3:30 a.m., NJSP Trooper Alejandro Goez told Daily Voice. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene, Goez said. Her name was not released. The center and right lanes were closed for about three hours during the crash investigation.
