This Mamaroneck Beach To Close All Day On July 4 If you're making plans to sit on the sand on Independence Day, you'll want to avoid one Westchester beach that will close the entire day.  The Stephen E. Johnston Beach at Harbor Island Park will close all day on Thursday, July 4, according to the Village of Mamaroneck Recreation Department.  The park's spray ground will also close, officials added.
