Shelton House Damaged In Fire Re-burned Due To Large Amount Of Fireworks Inside A controlled burn will be held inside a Connecticut residence that was damaged in a fire because of the large amount of fireworks discovered in the garage and basement, police announced.  The Fairfield County residence, located in Shelton at 7 Bruce Dr., was scheduled to be re-burned on Thursday, June 27, according to the Shelton Police Department.  The home was originally damaged in a blaze on Saturday, June 22 around 6:45 p.m., when a fire began inside the residence. Tree Falls, Kills Man In Willimantic During Sudden Storm A 53-year-old man was killed after a tree fell on him in Connecticut during a sudden thunderstorm.  The incident happened in Windham County just after 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, when a man walking in the area of Union Street and Jackson Avenue in Willimantic was hit by a fallen tree during a storm, according to Willimantic Fire Chief Marc Scrivener.  According to Scrivener, the man had been in "the wrong place at the wrong time." Vehicle Stolen From Driveway On Residential Street In Rye Police are urging residents to lock their cars after a vehicle was stolen from a driveway on a quiet Westchester street. The theft happened on Friday, June 21 around 3 a.m., when a car was stolen from a driveway in the area of Dearborn Avenue in Rye, according to the City of Rye Police Department.  The car had been left unlocked with the keys inside, police said.
