Allentown Police Chaplain Angel Ramos Dies: Officials Angel Ramos, an Allentown pastor and longtime police chaplain, has died, the department announced on Thursday, Jan. 18.  Ramos had served as APD's chaplain for 27 years, said Chief Charles Roca in a statement.  "Pastor Ramos served the city and its residents with distinction," the chief said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family during this time." His Facebook profile says he studied at Colegio San José in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, and that he served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  Ramos is survived by his wife.

Unclaimed Remains Of US Veterans To Be Laid To Rest In Bucks County Two US veterans who died in Bucks County and whose remains have not been claimed will be laid to rest, officials say.  Both men are veterans of the Vietnam War era, said Bucks Coroner Meredith Buck's Office in a statement on Thursday, June 22.  They are:  Ralph Burbage, an Airman Second Class in the US Air Force. Burbage, of Middletown, died on April 25, 2022.  Stephen Suckey, a Specialist in the US Army. Suckey, of Falls Township, died on June 13, 2018.  The ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on June 29 at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Upper Makefield…

Joseph Slivinski, 71, of Lackawanna County, was struck by lightning while playing golf on Friday at Pine Hills Golf Course, according to the county coroner. Slivinski was attempting to find shelter when he was fatally injured, he died at the golf course around 1:30 p.m. A South Jersey golfer was struck and killed by lightning last month.
