Officials have named the 91-year-old man killed in a Lower Macungie crash on Monday afternoon, Jan. 22. John H. Milliman was a passenger in a BMW headed north on Route 222 around 10:40 a.m., according to state police. The BMW was struck by a tractor-trailer when it turned left onto Kressler Road, rotating 90 degrees and coming to rest near the center median, troopers said. A Lehigh Valley woman is charged with making terroristic threats after an argument that began when a group of neighbors called her a "Karen," according to state police. It happened in North Whitehall Township on April 25 around 6 p.m., troopers wrote in a release. Jan Hariegle, 66, was gardening outside her home and had a kitchen knife in her hand at the time, police said. The highly contagious bird flu has been detected among turkeys on poultry farms in Lehigh County, officials say. The state Department of Agriculture found the illness in five separate flocks on farms in North Whitehall Township between Thursday, Nov. 3 and Wednesday, Nov. 9, according to a report by the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, a private lobbying association. A multi-car crash temporarily closed the northbound lanes and one southbound lane of Route 145 in North Whitehall Township Friday morning, reports say. An elderly woman who was crawling on a road in front of her Lehigh County home was pronounced dead Friday after she was struck by a car driven by a teenager, authorities said. Ethel M. Haas, 83, was crawling on the road in front of her Clearview Road home in North Whitehall Township when a 17-year-old boy driving a 2016 Honda Civic, struck her around 10:35 p.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police. The impact pushed Haas' body 15 to 20 feet before stopping near the fog line on the opposite side of the roadway, police said. Police did not identify the 17-year-old driver.

Lehigh County Coroner IDs Woman Killed In Hit-Run Crash
The Lehigh County Coroner's Office has identified the victim struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash Friday. Ethel Haas, 83, was struck in front of her house on the 2500 block of Clearview Road in North Whitehall Township around 10:35 p.m., authorities said. The driver is still at large and Haas was pronounced dead at 11:08 p.m. Friday. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.
