Berks Man Convicted In Shooting Of 11-Year-Old Reading Boy A Berks County man was found guilty Wednesday of injuring a young boy in a shooting more than two years ago, authorities said. Cesar Tavarez, 30, of Leesport, was convicted on charges of attempted murder, persons not to possess firearms, conspiracy, and related offenses, after a two-day trial, according to the Berks County District Attorney's Office. Memorials Honor Jersey Shore Lifeguard Killed By Lightning Monday afternoon was just another work day for South Seaside Park guard Keith Pinto, who sat in the lifeguard chair under clear skies surrounded by his colleagues and beach goers. Seemingly out of nowhere, though, lightning struck.  The 19-year-old guard fell out of his chair and the force knocked a nearby group of people to the ground around 4:30 p.m. at the 21st Avenue Beach, witnesses tell CBS2.
