These Men Showed Up Hoping For Sex With Minors In Undercover OA Sting, Authorities Say
Authorities in Berks County have released mugshots of four of the eight men busted in an undercover operation for trying to have sex with children. The Berks County DA's Human Trafficking Task Force seeded advertisements across "websites commonly used for sex trade," offering "sexual relations with minors at a predetermined location in Berks County," prosecutors said in a release. Officer Shoots Knife-Wielding Man In Berks County: DA
A knife-wielding man was shot by police Wednesday, March 30 in Berks County, authorities said. Brecknock Township police responded to a 911 call of a man suffering from a mental health crisis in Mohnton around 7:45 a.m., Chief County Detective Michael J. Gombar said. Officers found the unnamed 66-year-old man "holding a large knife" on Butlers Lane, they said. He didn't listen when an officer told him to drop the knife and lunged at them, police said. Berks Man Already Charged With Homicide Stabs 2 Lehigh County Jail Corrections Officers
A 23-year-old Berks County man charged with homicide in relation to a shooting last August in Reading reportedly stabbed two corrections officers on March 9 at Lehigh County Jail in Allentown, according to LehighValleyLive. Mohnton native, Joewel Keita, who is now being housed in Berks County Prison, was charged Thursday with four counts of aggravated assault in the stabbing, according to court documents obtained by LehighValleyLive. The Powerball with Power Play ticket from the Wednesday, March 24 drawing was sold at Exxon Mart on East Wyomissing Avenue in Mohnton.
