Fake Bomb Threat At Shanks Extracts In East Hempfield Twp
An evacuation is over after a business received a bomb threat Friday morning, East Hempfield police announced around 11 a.m. Officers were called to Shanks Extracts located at 350 Richardson Drive at 6:25 a.m. on Jan. 26. "Employees had just discovered a message that had been left on the company’s phone system indicating that the building was going to explode," police said. A 21-year-old man killed in a three vehicle crash along Route 72 on Monday has been identified as a Columbia man, authorities said.Konnor Lowman was on a motorcycle when he collided with another vehicles on Route 72 at Quarry Road Monday afternoon in East Hempfield, the Lancaster County Coroner's Officer told WGAL News 8. Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt In East Hempfield Crash
A motorcyclist was left with serious injuries after a crash in East Hempfield Friday, authorities said. Albert Cheeks, 47, of Randallstown, Maryland was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Route 30 near the Marietta Avenue overpass around 1 p.m. when he rear-ended an 80-year-old Lancaster woman's car, according to East Hempfield police. The impact left Cheeks with serious injuries, police said. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. A 32-year-old man was arrested for punching a woman in the face and biting her nose after smashing a television in the motel room they were renting last week in Lancaster County, authorities said. Officers were dispatched to the Travelodge Motel on Columbia Avenue in East Hempfield around 5:45 p.m. last Friday, where the female victim was in the office and bleeding profusely from her nose, township police said.
