Ronald Frisbee III, 28 of Akron Borough, broke into the home he rents out at 312 S 10th Street around 2:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, according to the West Earl Township Police Department.
Officers with the department were called to the home for a "civil issue" at that time. Supposedly, Frisbee "was unhappy with his tenants after a washer and dryer machine was allegedly broken by the tenants," the police said. The officers cleared the scene at 2:40 a.m. – but at 2:44 a.m. they were called back to the home for a report of arson, as detailed in the police release.
Police said the following about the arson:
"Frisbee had entered the apartment of the tenants by using a code to a keypad door lock and lit a cardboard box on fire.The apartment [filled] with smoke and the fire was extinguished by a witness. The box was removed from the house and placed outside. The Akron Fire Department responded to make sure the fire was completely extinguished and to help air out the apartment. "
Frisbee was arrested and charged with felonies of Arson and Burglary, as well as two misdemeanors of Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
His preliminary arraignment was held before Magisterial District Judge Jodie Richardson who set his bail at $75,000. He has been held in the Lancaster County Prison until his preliminary hearing, scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Torrey Landis, the police explained. Court records in this case were unavailable as of 11 a.m. Monday morning.
