Escaped Inmate Isaiah Tilghman In South Philadelphia A convict who escaped from a Pennsylvania prison early this month was recently in South Philadelphia, according to the US Marshals Service. A Ford F-150 believed to be stolen by fugitive Isaiah R. Tilghman was found abandoned on the 2600 block of South Front Street, Marshals said Friday, Dec. 15.  The truck was bearing a stolen license plate that authorities believe Tilghman snagged off a similar truck in the Port Richmond neighborhood last Wednesday, Dec. 6.  The 33-year-old has been on the run since escaping the Blair County Prison on Sunday, Dec. 3, officials said previously. …

Philly Immigrant Killed In Motorcycle Crash Worked Hard For His Family Back Home, Friends Say Leonel Ortega, a Guatemalan-born Philadelphia resident and beloved highrise window washer, died in a motorcycle accident on his way to work on Wednesday, June 7, his colleagues say. He was 22.  Ortega "meant a lot to us and everyone else that knew him," said Anthony Zurzolo, his coworker at Premier Window Cleaning in Port Richmond.  "He was a very hard worker that wanted everything to help his family," Zurzolo wrote in a tribute on social media.
