Police Officer Shoots Dog In North Philadelphia: Officials A Philadelphia police officer shot a pit bull while it attacked a pomeranian in the city's West Oak Lane neighborhood last Wednesday, April 17, according to authorities.  Police said the officer was called to the 2011 block of Eastburn Avenue around 8 a.m., where she "observed a large Pitbull dog attacking a Pomeranian on the sidewalk." Motorcyclist Killed In Route 1 Crash, 2nd Fatal In Same Day In South Brunswick Two people were killed in separate crashes in South Brunswick including a motorist from South River and a motorcyclist from Pennsylvania, authorities said. At 5:56 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, officers were alerted to a single-car crash on Route 535.  The preliminary investigation shows a Nissan Maxima, operated by a 65-year-old man from South River, left the roadway and struck a utility pole. Animal Cruelty Investigation Launched In Northampton County Police are investigating after a dog was found dead in a cage in Forks Township over the weekend. Officers were called to Frutchey Hill Road and Richmond Road Saturday morning, April 20 for an "animal complaint," Township police said in a release.  A small, brown Yorkie with a green colored bandana was found dead in a cage under a white bedsheet, authorities said. Troopers Investigate 'Terroristic Threats' Toward Monroe County Wawa State police were called to a Chesnuthill Township Wawa when an anonymous caller made "terroristic threats" last week, authorities said in a release.  The Wawa at 1781 Route 209 got the calls around 10:30 p.m. Friday, April 19, troopers said.  The store was temporarily closed and employees were evacuated while police "conducted a walk-through and assessed the building," according to the release. Nothing suspicious was found and the store reopened, police said.  The matter remains under investigation by PSP's Fern Ridge station.
