Ex-BF Shot GF, Coworker Then Himself Fatally At PA Doc Office: Police
A doctor's office employee was shot by her ex-boyfriend who tried shooting a colleague before turning the gun on himself Thursday, Dec. 15 at a Berks County medical center, authorities said.
Xavier Starks arrived at Digestive Disease Associates on Reed Avenue in Wyomissing where his ex, Stacy Vereen, was working around 9 a.m., police said.
The two began arguing as Starks approached Vereen, and as her coworker tried to intervene, Starks opened fire, police said. Vereen was struck in the neck and face as the heroic coworker tried to disarm Stark, authorities said.

Aaliah King, 4, and Braelyn King, 5, were found with their dad in Fredricksburg, VA, Wyomissing police said Friday, June 10.
Eden Matthews, 22, fled with her children from the Delaware Avenue area of Wyomissing on Wednesday, June 8, authorities previously said.
Police were looking for her black 2021 Hyundai Tucson with Maryland registration 5ER5844.

An eastern Pennsylvania man had 22 pounds of marijuana mailed to him from a sender in Florida, authorities said.
Branden A. Jacobo, 22, of Sinking Spring, had officers waiting for him when he arrived at an unnamed shipping store on State Hill Road in Wyomissing to retrieve his two packages on Monday, June 6, borough police said.
Officers responding to a tip opened the boxes and discovered 22 vacuum-sealed bags of weed, each weighing about one pound, they said. The drugs were valued at $50,000.

Support is surging for the wife of a water authority worker killed in a Berks County trench collapse earlier this week.
Western Berks Water Authority employee Cody Gipprich, 38, of Shillington, was doing routine work in a constructed pit with a colleague on Cambridge Avenue near Meadow Lane around 8:30 a.m. in Wyomissing on Wednesday, WFMZ reports.
At some point, a pipe or valve failed, causing high-pressure water to shoot out on Gipprich, the outlet reports.
