Human Remains ID'd As Pennsylvania Man Missing Since 2012: Coroner
A Monroe County man who went missing more than a decade ago died from a gunshot wound to the head, according to officials. The remains of Stephen C. Lepore were unearthed at 95 Peet Road in Dreher Township, Wayne County, said the Coroner's Office. The skeletal remains were discovered by an unknown party on Tuesday morning, Oct. 17, and identified as Lepore using dental records on Thursday, Oct. 19, Coroner Edward R. Howell said. A couple has been identified following a second murder-suicide in central Pennsylvania this month. Brenda Bowersox, 55, of York, was shot and killed by her husband, Steve Bowersox, 60, of York, at their home located at 2816 Glen Hollow Drive in Springettsbury Township, York, authorities said. A 24-year-old who man was found shot multiple times in York on Thursday, March, 30, 2023— has been identified, the York County Coroner announced the following day. Quintir Simmons of the 700 block of East Prospect Street in York City died by homicide from multiple gunshot wounds and was declared deceased at 10:32 a.m. as declared by Deputy Coroner Karen Frank, according to the release. A 22-year-old man was shot and killed in Hazleton, authorities said. Felix Dini was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest at 4:10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 10, after the shooting on Friday, Oct. 7, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. The Freeland resident was shot at the intersection of South Fulton Court and East Noble Street around 5:50 p.m., authorities said. A man was shot in the torso twice in Lancaster on Sunday, 2 October, city police say. Two men have been hospitalized following a shooting, according to York City Police. Police were called to a shooting at 530 Maryland Avenue On Wednesday shortly after 12:34 a.m. Upon arrival police found two men, 30 and 35-years-old, suffering from gunshot wounds. Shooting In York Leaves 2 Men, 21, Injured, Say Police
A shooting in York left two men injured, according to police. Police were called to the 700 block of East Prospect Street for reports of the shooting around 2:30 p.m. Upon arrival police found two men, both 21, suffering from gunshot wounds. Their wounds are not life-threatening, say police. This is the 30th non-fatal shooting in the city this year; there have been six homicides. An investigation into this shooting is on-going.
