4-Hour Standoff Ends In Philly Area Man's Suicide, Police Say A welfare check turned standoff in the Philadelphia suburbs ended in tragedy on Tuesday, April 19, authorities said. An unidentified man died by suicide outside a home on Brandamore Road in Honey Brook around 8 p.m., West Brandywine police said. The victim was believed to be "suicidal" and "threatening harm," so police from West Brandywine, Honey Brook, and West Caln arrived around 4 p.m. to check on him, they said. 1 Dead, 1 Hospitalized In West Brandywine House Fire: Report One person died and another was hospitalized in unknown condition after a fire broke out at a home early Friday, March 18 in West Brandywine, Daily Local reports. Firefighters arrived to find smoke and fire spreading through the roof and were told one resident was still inside the mobile home on Maplewood Drive, the outlet reports.  Crews were able to bring the fire under control around 2:20 a.m., but they were unable to rescue the trapped person. Former Chester County Judge Pleads Guilty To Theft A former Chester County judge previously charged with using campaign contributions to gamble pleaded guilty to charges of theft, authorities announced.
