Flames Rip Through Penndel Apartment (Photos) Multiple fire departments responded to a blaze at a Penndel residence on Thursday, July 6, officials say.  Firefighters were called to a two-story building at around noon, according to Newtown Fire Rescue. Video from the scene posted by Penndel Volunteer Fire Company showed flames engulfing the back porch of the Acosta Doors building, 145 Durham Road.  Teams were able to get the flames under control in about 20 minutes, Newtown fire officials said. Firefighter Falls 20 Feet From Ladder Battling Bucks County Blaze A firefighter was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after falling from a ground latter while battling a fire at a business over the weekend in Bensalem. The Newport Fire Company was called to a water flow alarm at Ebooks Web LLC on Bridgewater Road on Saturday, Dec. 10, where firefighters found an active blaze. Multiple volunteer fire companies responded to handle the two-alarm fire. During the incident, a firefighter from Nottingham Fire Company fell from the ladder, Bensalem police said.
