New Traffic Pattern Coming To Easton Streets
Easton area drivers are getting a heads up about a new traffic pattern starting next week. Church Street between Wood Avenue and North 7th Street will reverse direction and become a westbound one-way, according to officials. Meanwhile, Wood Avenue between North 8th Street and Northampton Street will reverse to become an eastbound one-way. The changes go into effect on Wednesday, May 1.

Alleged Gunman In Easton Shooting Caught In New Jersey: Police
US Marshals arrested a suspect in an Easton shooting this week, according to police. Authorities said Tamir Freeman was taken into custody in Newark, New Jersey on Tuesday, April 23. He was taken to the Essex County jail pending his extradition to Pennsylvania, Easton police said. Investigators believe Freeman was the gunman in a Dec. 11 shooting on Northampton Street that sent a 30-year-old man to the hospital. Police say the victim in a Monday night Easton shooting is not cooperating with investigators. The 30-year-old man was shot multiple times on the 200 block of Northampton Street around 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 11, the department said in a release. He was taken to an area hospital with "what are believed to be survivable injuries," police wrote. Two nearby businesses and a car were also damaged by gunfire, they added. A 22-year-old man from Pennsylvania is being sought by authorities in New Jersey who they say he engaged in sexual behavior with a teen. Michael Davenport, of Easton, found the victim on Snapchat before the two met up in person, Warren County Prosecutor James Pfeiffer said. Davenport, who was 20 at the time, has been charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
