Bomb Squad Clears Germantown Supermarket After Teens Tried Lighting Dynamite Sticks A group of teens were unsuccessful in their plight to light sticks of dynamite in a Philadelphia grocery store Tuesday, June 20, police said. Three black males ranging from 16 to 19 years old were attempting to light the stick inside Fresh Grocer at 5301 Chew Avenue around 510 p.m., police said. Security recovered the dynamite and a bomb squad clear the scene, and removed the explosives.

Woman, 10-Month-Old Hospitalized After Car Crash: Philadelphia Police A driver and a 10-month-old boy were treated for injuries at Einstein Medical Center after Philadelphia police say they were involved in an accident in the city's Mount Airy section.  It happened on the corner of East Upsal Street and Chew Avenue early on Monday, March 13, the department told Daily Voice. At around 12:45 a.m., a Hyundai Tuscon struck a Chevrolet Cobalt, which then struck a parked Buick. The parked Buick then collided with a parked Cadillac, they continued.  First responders had to remove the driver of the Chevrolet, a 22-year-old woman, from the car, police said. …
