Temple Students Robbed At Gunpoint Steps From Campus, Authorities Say Two students were robbed at gunpoint just steps away from the Temple University campus before sunrise on Tuesday, Oct. 31, according to authorities.  The stick-ups happened near the corner of North 16th Street and Berks streets around 6 a.m., PPD said.  The first victim, 21, was robbed of his phone but later found it nearby using a tracking app, said police. The second victim, also 21, was pistol-whipped before having his wallet and phone stolen, they added.  The suspect is described as a 6-foot-tall black man in his mid-20s wearing a dark sweatshirt and a mask.  …

Pair Of Deadly Hit-Runs Under Investigation In Philly Police in Philadelphia are investigating after two people were killed in hit-and-run car crashes just a few hours apart on Sunday, Jan. 22.  The first crash happened at about 5:30 p.m. in South Philadelphia, 6abc reports. A 44-year-old woman was crossing the 600 block of Oregon Avenue when she was hit by a silver SUV, the outlet said.  The driver fled east on Oregon Avenue, and the victim was pronounced dead by first responders sometime later, the report says.  The second accident occurred at about 8:40 p.m., police said in a statement.
