Snow Emergencies In Effect, Closures Announced Across Bucks County

Overnight and early morning snowfall across greater Philadelphia is creating slushy roads and hazardous conditions for commuters, officials warn.

Throughout the region, authorities are announcing office closures and advising drivers to use caution.

Here's an inexhaustive list of weather-related announcements from officials across southeastern Pennsylvania for Tuesday, Feb. 13. 

Berks County

  • In Reading, City Hall is closed. Street sweeping and trash and recycling collection for Tuesday have been canceled. 

Bucks County

  • Warminster Township has declared a snow emergency through midnight tonight. Cars must be removed from the street for snow plow access and shoveled snow must be kept out of the roadway. 
  • In Solebury Township, expect delays on Route 202 between New Jersey and Buckingham Township. Wires were downed on Short Road at Fleecydale Road, and a tree was downed on Creamery Road between Route 263 and Meetinghouse Road. 
  • In New Britain Township, drivers are urged to avoid all unnecessary travel.
  • In Upper Southampton, a snow emergency is declared. Cars must be removed from residential roadways to allow plow access.
  • In Warrington, a snow emergency is declared until 6 p.m. Cars must be removed from residential roadways to allow plow access.
  • In Newtown Township, a snow emergency is declared until 6 p.m. Cars must be removed from residential roadways to allow plow access.
  • In Doylestown, a snow emergency is declared and drivers are asked to avoid unnecessary travel. The Central Bucks Regional Police Department is closed.

Chester County

  • In North Coventry, drivers are asked to avoid unnecessary travel. 
  • The Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Administrative Offices are closed.
  • In Kennett Square, the police department building is closed. No parking is permitted on: the north side of East Linden Street from Broad to Willow streets; the east side of North Willow Street from East Linden to East State streets; the east side of South Walnut Street from East South Street to Southview Avenue. The borough parking garage on E. Linden Street is open for residents' use. 
  • In West Chester, drivers are urged to use caution. 

Dauphin County

  • Harrisburg city offices are closed, but the City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. as originally scheduled. 

Delaware County

  • Yeadon Borough Hall is closed today and all drivers are asked to use caution. 

Lehigh County

  • In Allentown, drivers should avoid travel when possible. Downed trees and branches should be reported to the Parks Department (610-437-7757) or the Streets Department (610-437-7638.)

Montgomery County

  • In Lansdale, drivers are asked to avoid unnecessary travel. 
  • In Hatfield, a snow emergency is in effect and cars must not be parked in the roadway. 

Northampton County

  • In Palmer Township, Tatamy Road is closed from Hackett Avenue to Crest Boulevard; Walster Avenue is closed; Timberlane Drive at Westwood Drive is closed. Drivers should avoid unnecessary travel. 
  • In Nazareth, a snow emergency was declared Monday night. 

York County

  • All York County buildings, including the Judicial Center and district courts, are closed.
